The Hobbit December 2008 Update
Guillermo del Toro recently held a live chat on BD Live discussing the two upcoming "Hobbit" films, which will be released December 2011 and December 2012, respectively.

Del Toro was asked if there would be any of the same crew working on these films as there was for "Hellboy 2" as well as any new types of creatures like the film had.

According to the director, he says that the crew will "hopefully" include, Barlowe, Spectral Motion, Guillermo Navarro and others. Also, he says that there will be "many, many more" creatures and that they will be "pushing the goblin kingdom. We will be pushing Smaug, the spiders of Mirkwood. We will be pushing them to the edge of technology where we will fuse animatronics and CGI into a seamless new art form in creating creatures, I think."

The film will begin filming in 2010 and is expected to shoot for approximately 370 days.
