Variety has reported that Terry Rossio will be the scribe for the upcoming fifth film in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" series.

Rossio, along with Ted Elliot, wrote the first four "Pirates" films, the latest to be released being "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". That film, directed by Rob Marshal, is due out on May 20.

The previous three "Pirates" films have grossed more than $2.6 billion worldwide.
