"Pan Am", the series about the famous and now defunct airline, premiered last night with 10.9 million viewers, an impressive number for a new series premier.
Christina Ricci stars in the series, playing Stewardess Maggie Ryan. Ricci says she loves her new job and that she has been looking for a series to do for a while. "I've been wanting to do television for a while and every year we looked at the new pilots and then [Pan Am] came along. I was offered this and thought this was great and kind of perfect for me."
She went on to say, "It was an ensemble, which I was looking for. It's an hour long and I just loved that it was a different concept, really. It was something brand new. It's really exciting." Ricci was drawn to the time period that the show takes place in as well. "I loved the period of time this was going to tackle, because for me this period in history is really, really interesting for our country. It's always been something that has been fascinating to me. So, I was really excited by it."
"Pan Am" Airs on ABC Sunday nights at 10 p.m.
