Top Gun Sequel Canceled After Scott's Death
The "Top Gun" sequel has been canceled.

The August suicide of Tony Scott has left the project in shambles. Tom Cruise is likely not willing to go forward without Scott involved, and all development has ceased.

Fans of the film will be able to see "Top Gun 3D", which is slated for release in February 2013.  The film was enthusiastically backed by Scott.
