Gibson’s ‘Passion of the Christ’ Sequel Has a Title
Director and Actor Mel Gibson announced that the sequel to his movie ‘Passion of the Christ' will be titled ‘Resurrection'.  Not to be fooled by a one word title, the sequel is not just going to be about one event but the other things that happened around that time, in those three days. Gibson stated that the film's villains "are in another realm" and "Sure, you're going all over the place".

Gibson does not intent ‘Resurrection' to be a telling of a chronological story, so we will have to wait to see how it is presented.  According to Gibson, everyone should  "Get your imagination going."  Braveheart screenwriter, Randall Wallace is working with Gibson, but the movie has a while to go before filming or release dates are announced.  Gibson anticipates another three years due to the "big subject" being covered.

‘Passion of the Christ' was released in 2004 and told the story of Jesus' persecution and crucifixion.  It was released by independent Newmarket Films and earned $612 million worldwide on a production budget of only $30 million.

Mel Gibson's latest film Hacksaw Ridge opens this Friday, November 4th, 2016.
