Could Universal's Dark Universe Be Reaching an Early Grave?
It has been reported that Universal's Dark Universe Franchise, which was launched with The Mummy, has been shut down. While there is no official confirmation about this news, the other films in the franchise have seemed to have lost steam.

Along with The Mummy, the Dark Universe films were to include Bride Of Frankenstein, Wolf Man, The Invisible Man and a Creature From The Black Lagoon film.

Things seemingly began to go downhill after The Bride of Frankenstein's production was halted due to executives thinking that the script wasn't ready. However, Universal is supposedly trying to figure things out and still make it work.

Universal President of Production, Peter Cramer, has said, "We've learned many lessons throughout the creative process on Dark Universe so far, and we are viewing these titles as filmmaker-driven vehicles, each with their own distinct vision. We are not rushing to meet a release date and will move forward with these films when we feel they are the best versions of themselves."

Only time will tell if Universal will actually put in the time needed for these films or if they will just give up altogether.
