Sir Ian McKellen Expresses Desire to Do a Musical

Accomplished screen legend Sir Ian McKellen looks as if he's conquered all aspects of film and TV; however, he recently said that he has yet to complete his wish list - he would like to do a musical.

In a recent interview, the actor said that a musical was "one of the few areas left" where he would love to prove himself. He went on to say, "I can hold a tune but I'm not a proper singer. I'm available but incompetent."

He added, "I don't feel I have much to prove in my career anymore so why not just do the things I enjoy doing, like getting in front of an audience and entertaining them."

We can see Sir Ian McKellen next in "Whodunnit", a play which also stars Emma Thompson and Gillian Anderson. The production is in support of North London's Park Theatre, which has struggled since the beginning of the pandemic.
