Actress Annie Wersching Passes Away: A Tribute to a Talented Actress and Friend

The entertainment industry is in mourning as the news of Annie Wersching's passing due to cancer was confirmed by her publicist. She was 45 years old. Despite her diagnosis in 2020, Annie continued to work on her passion and appeared in several popular TV shows and games, including "Star Trek: Picard," where she played the Borg Queen in Season 2, and lent her voice to the character of Tess in the popular video game, "The Last Of Us," which has been adapted into a TV series by HBO.

Annie's husband, actor Stephen Full, shared a heartfelt statement about her passing, describing the emptiness her loss has left in their family's hearts. However, he also expressed his gratitude for her legacy, which has given them the tools to fill that emptiness. He remembered her as someone who found wonder in the simplest moments, who didn't wait for adventure to come to her, and who taught her family to go out and find it.

Director and executive producer of "24," Jon Cassar, also paid tribute to Annie's life and career. He spoke about how she entered his world with an open heart and a contagious smile and went on to become more than just a workmate, but a true friend to him, his family, and everyone who worked with her. He shared that her talent took his breath away and she will be deeply missed by her colleagues and fans.

Annie was born and raised in St. Louis by her parents Sandy and Frank. Her first major role was as Amelia Joffe on "General Hospital." She went on to star as Renee Walker in Seasons 7 and 8 of "24." Throughout her career, she also made significant appearances in popular shows such as "The Vampire Diaries," "Runaways," "Extant," "Timeless," "Bosch," and "The Rookie."

One of Annie's final roles was in Season 2 of "Star Trek: Picard," which marked exactly two decades since she made her screen acting debut in an episode of "Star Trek: Enterprise." Her passing has left a void in the entertainment industry and she will be remembered as a talented and impactful actress.

Annie is survived by her husband and three children, Freddie, Ozzie, and Archie. A GoFundMe has been set up to support her family during this difficult time. The loss of such a bright and talented star will be felt for years to come, but her legacy will live on through the memories she has left behind.
