Miami Hosts Exclusive Early Viewing of Groundbreaking Horror Film, The Blackening

There is a horror movie trope that the lone black cast member is always the first to die.  But what happens when the whole cast is black? As the slogan says…" We Can't All Die First" (well technically they could but that would be one short horror movie). From the Director of Ride Along and Barbershop comes THE BLACKENING, a comedy, horror, and thriller set to open in theaters on June 16, 2023.

Lionsgate, in conjunction with FlickDirect, would like to offer some individuals access to an advance screening of the film on Tuesday, June 13 at AMC Aventura at 7:30 PM.

The Blackening centers around a group of Black friends who reunite for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to find themselves trapped in a remote cabin with a twisted killer. Forced to play by his rules, the friends soon realize this ain't no motherf****** game. Directed by Tim Story (Ride Along, Think Like A Man, Barbershop) and screenplay and screen story by Tracy Oliver (Girls
Trip, Harlem) & Dewayne Perkins (The Amber Ruffin Show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), The Blackening skewers genre tropes and poses the sardonic question: if the entire cast of a horror movie is Black, who dies first?
