"Ahsoka" Skyrockets to Global Success on Disney+: Breaks Records as Most-Watched Title with 14 Million Views in Debut Week!

Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company have announced that Part One of "Ahsoka", "Master and Apprentice," was the most-watched title on Disney+ this past week. The episode has 14 million views making the series number one globally on the streaming platform.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said, "Ahsoka has become a fan favorite with people of all ages and it's wonderful to see her continue to resonate with viewers in her very own headlining series. I want to recognize the fantastic work done by our creative team, led by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the incredible cast led by Rosario Dawson, and our talented crew - and on behalf of the team and all of Lucasfilm, we give our thanks to all the fans who have been with Ahsoka on every step of her journey and to all those who are just learning about her now in Ahsoka on Disney+."

"Ahsoka," made its debut on the Disney+ platform on August 22, offering Star Wars fans a captivating new narrative within the beloved sci-fi universe. Created and penned by Dave Filoni, this spin-off series is intricately linked to the "Star Wars" franchise, extending from the storyline of "The Mandalorian" and its interconnected spin-offs. Set after the events of "Return of the Jedi" (1983), "Ahsoka" follows the journey of Ahsoka Tano and her apprentice Sabine Wren as they navigate a galaxy grappling with emerging threats in the aftermath of the Empire's fall.

Portrayed by Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka Tano is a character that originated in the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and transitioned to live-action in "The Mandalorian." The announcement of a dedicated spin-off series in December 2020 created a wave of excitement among fans. With Dawson reprising her role and Filoni lending his writing expertise, the series promises to delve deeper into Ahsoka's story. Other cast members include Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Wes Chatham, and Ray Stevenson.

The series will build upon the narrative established in "Star Wars Rebels" and will be comprised of eight episodes, with the concluding episode scheduled for October 3.

New episodes of Ahsoka arrive every Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT., only on Disney+.
