Academy Award® winner George Miller is set to be honored with the prestigious CinemaCon® International Career Achievement in Filmmaking Award, it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. The official convention of NATO, CinemaCon, will be hosted from April 8-11, 2024, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where Miller will receive this esteemed accolade during the International Day Lunch and Awards ceremony on April 8.

Returning to the big screen on May 24, 2024, with Warner Bros. Pictures' Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, George Miller brings forth his highly anticipated venture back into the dystopian universe he first crafted over three decades ago. Featuring a stellar cast including Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth, the film embarks on a new narrative journey, delving into the origins of the formidable character from the acclaimed Mad Max: Fury Road. Set against a backdrop of chaos, young Furiosa is thrust into a perilous journey from the Green Place of Many Mothers into the clutches of the formidable Biker Horde led by the Warlord of Dementus. Amidst the struggle for dominance between two tyrants, Furiosa must navigate trials to find her way back home. Alyla Browne and Tom Burke also star in the film, produced by Miller and his longtime collaborator, Doug Mitchell, under their Kennedy Miller Mitchell banner.

Hailing from Australia, George Miller initially pursued a career in medicine before venturing into filmmaking as a writer, director, and producer. His directorial debut, Mad Max, garnered international success, paving the way for three successful sequels. Mad Max: Fury Road, in particular, reintroduced the iconic title character and introduced audiences to the beloved Furiosa, earning over $380 million worldwide and clinching six Academy Awards®. Miller's illustrious career extends beyond the Mad Max franchise, including his Academy Award®-winning animated feature film, Happy Feet, and acclaimed works like Lorenzo's Oil and Babe. His contributions to cinema have earned him numerous accolades, including the Order of Australia and the French Order of Arts and Letters.

Beyond the silver screen, Miller has left an indelible mark on television, directing and producing projects such as The Dismissal, which set rating records in Australia. Additionally, he has been actively involved in supporting the arts as a Patron of the Sydney Film Festival and the Australian Film Institute, as well as serving as President of the 69th Cannes Film Festival in 2016. George Miller's multifaceted career continues to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide, solidifying his legacy as a visionary filmmaker of our time.
