Universal Pictures Picks Up Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards

The upcoming Quentin Tarantino film, "Inglorious Bastards" has caught they eye of Universal Pictures, and they are currently in negotiations with the Weinstein Co. to bring the film to life.

Tarantino and Weinstein met with five studios, looking for a co-financer for the film.  Paramount and Universal were the two that stood out, but paramount didn't agree with how grosses would be accounted.

Brad Pitt is being considered for the role of Aldo Raine, but nothing is set in stone.  Universal and Pitt had a fallout due to Pitt's pulling out of the film "State of Play" at the last minute.

Filming will begin this fall in Germany and France.
