2010 Robocop Film To Be Series "Reboot"

The upcoming "Robocop" film, due out sometime in 2010, is not going to be a sequel to the hit film from 1987.  Producers of the film say it is more of a "reboot" much like "Batman Begins".

"None of [the earlier films are] going to be canonical, as a matter of fact. I wouldn't say it's a direct sequel" says Brad Fischer.

The film will most likely have a "R" rating, given the nature of the film. Mike Medavoy says "Well I was involved with the original 'Robocop,' and it was an R, and the likelihood is that this will be an R... It's likely to be an R unless the director cuts back on some of it."
