Barbarella Back On Track

"Barbarella", the film that was originally to be remade by director Robert Rodriguez, will now be taken over by none other than Dino De Laurentiis, the original director of the 1968 sci-fi classic.

Problems reportedly arose between Rodriguez and Universal when they couldn't agree on a location to shoot the film.

The film was based on a story written in a French graphic magazine in 1962. Illustrated by Jean-Claude Forest, the story featured a female mercenary and her journeys through the universe. She was known for her sexual prowess.
