Zack Snyder to Direct Next Superman Installment

According to Variety, Zack Snyder has been tapped as the director for the upcoming Warner Bros. Superman film.  Snyder also directed "300", "Watchmen", and the upcoming "Sucker Punch", which will be released next year.

Christopher Nolan, famed for his Batman revivals, will be producing the film alongside his wife, Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder.

Snyder commented about Nolan to Variety saying, "He provides that extra bit of wisdom to a process that sometimes lacks it. It's the best situation we could be in for this character." He also about the script, which is being written by David Goyer, saying "It's still early in the process but I will say that the story that Chris and David have laid out is pretty awesome."

Warner Bros. is looking for a Holiday 2012 release for the film.
