Disney Co. to Lay Off 200 from Studios

The Disney Company will be laying off about 200 people in the coming weeks, the largest amount since last year's cut of about 450 people in the San Francisco area facility.

These cuts have been planned for months, and it is thought that they will occur for those involved in distribution, development and post production.

The studio has seen a downturn in the homevideo revenue, and presumably, the studio is looking for ways to cut costs.

They will be releasing two big films this year, "Cars 2" and "The Muppets".
