Warner Bros In Talks With Peter Segal To Helm Machine Starring Vin Diesel
Action movie fans once again have a reason to get excited, as it was announced that MGM is currently in talks with the director of "Get Smart", Peter Segal, to direct "The Machine" starring Vin Diesel.  While Segal is currently attached to a number of other projects including WB's "Grudge Match" and "Bleach", sources indicate that he may not be up for to the task of taking on another picture.

Segal has been working WB since the 90's, but had the opportunity to direct "Get Smart" for MGM in 2008.  That picture brought in more than $200 million worldwide and set up the sequel, "Get Smart 2", which is currently in the works with Segal slated to direct.  Segal also directed "My Fellow Americans" for the studio in 1996.

"Machine" is based on an original script by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, who are also producing.  Diesel stars as a human-like machine created in secrecy by the Pentagon as the world's first true ultimate  weapon. Two decades after the government halted the project for unknown reasons, a child finds and befriends "The Machine."
