Lucasfilm and Colin Trevorrow have mutually chosen to part ways on Star Wars: Episode IX. Colin has been a wonderful collaborator throughout the development process but we have all come to the conclusion that our visions for the project differ. We wish Colin the best and will be sharing more information about the film soon.
Trevorrow directed the Jurassic Park reboot and is serving as the executive producer on the sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The first film earned over $1.6 billion worldwide and became the fourth-biggest movie of all time.
The eighth film in the franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, will be in theaters on December 15. Star Wars: Episode IX is currently slated for a May 24, 2019 release.
