Hannah Montana Movie Tickets Are A Hot Sell
Hannah Montana movie tickets are getting harder and harder to purchase. The film, which will be opening on February 1, has already sold out in many theaters, forcing many theater owners to add more showings. Tickets have been on sale since Dec. 1 for the movie that will be running for one week only.
"We have 21 girls in our Girl Scout troop and I wanted to be able to offer it to all of them, thinking it would be great if we could go together," said Patti Feurman, mother of two in Ridgefield, Conn. "It was impossible to get that many tickets for a single show. We all had to break up to try to find tickets and we are all at different showtimes."
In the movie, Miley Cyrus performs both as Hannah Montana and as herself. It showcases her performances on her latest tour, "Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert". On top of that, to make the movie extra special, they shot it in Disney Digital 3D. Many parents are hoping that this will appease their children who didn't have the chance to see the show live. Patricia Garrett, of Anaheim, California said, "I think the movie is going to be something special for the kids who didn't get to see the concert," She was unable to buy tickets for her 9-year-old daughter.
Fandango reports that the film made up 30 percent of their ticket sales as of Thursday, second to Cloverfield. "It's the best-selling concert movie in Fandango's seven-year history," said Rick Butler, chief operating officer of Fandango. MovieTickets.com is also reporting that the movie was the number one seller during it's first week out, and has sold thousands of tickets everyday since.
