Tom Cruise and long time producing partner Paula Wagner will join forces with Metro-Goldwyn Mayer to resurrect United Artist Studios. Harry E. Sloan Chairman and CEO of MGM made the announcement yesterday.
Seeking to release approximately 4 films a year, the studio will be a creative outlet for the long time pair of Cruise and Wagner who have produced such films as War Of The Worlds, The Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky and the Mission Impossible series.
"This is a great opportunity for Tom and me to re-establish the United Artists brand and to work closely with the creative community," said Wagner. "As studio partner-operators, we will provide a supportive environment and infrastructure for filmmakers that will allow them to do their best work."
