Director/Producer Timur  Bekmambetov (Wanted, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) , has acquired   "The Current War" for his production house, Bazelevs.

Based on a script by Michael Mitnick, the film will be about the rivalry between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse, both pioneers in the field of electricity.

Rumors are circulating that depending on his schedule Bekmambetov might direct the film himself.
