Miami, FL, June 21, 2012 - Star NFL athlete and 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the Year for the Baltimore Ravens, Terrell Suggs, takes his filmmaking talents to South Beach with the premiere of the feature film THE COALITION. Produced by Team Sizzle Films and directed and co-written by Monica Mingo, the world premiere screening was held in the landmark Colony Theater in Miami Beach on June 21, 2012. THE COALITION was screened for two sold out houses during the festival.
THE COALITION stars Adrienne Bailon ("Empire Girls"; "Cheetah Girls") and JR Ramirez as Katalina and Lonzo, whose blossoming love must survive the vortex of deceit that swirls around their best friends. The romantic comedy also features Jackée Harry ("Sister, Sister"; "227"), Shanti Lowry ("The Game"), Denyce Lawton ("Tyler Perry's House of Payne"), and Eddie Goines, known for his performance in the Beyoncé music video "If I Were a Boy."
In THE COALITION, the bad boys club is really not all that bad. Young,
rich and handsome, the boys know how to have a good time. There comes a
time in life, however, when karma is helped along. When it's done by a
group of scorned women - it can prove to be devastating.
The Suggs-led Team Sizzle Films and Monica Mingo got their start together after first meeting at ABFF in 2009. They collaborated on 4 short films during 2010 and 2011 with two of those shorts being presented at the Festival de Cannes Short Film Corner - WHEN BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE DO UGLY THINGS in 2011 and COMMITMENT in 2012.
Worldwide distribution rights in all media remain available for THE COALITION and the film is being represented by Cinetic Media in New York.
