Gudnason would join a cast that includes Claire Foy as Lisbeth Salander, Sylvia Hoeks as Salander's twin sister, and Claes Bang as the villain.
The film will be directed by Fede Alvarez with a script from Steven Knight, Alvarez and Jay Basu. Amy Pascal, Elizabeth Cantillon, and Scott Rudin will be producing the film.
