One of our favorite TV dads, John Mahoney, has died. He was 77. The actor was most known for his role of Martin Crane, father of the Frasier and Niles Crane on the popular show Frasier.
Mahoney played the role of Crane from 1993 - 2004. He received two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations for the role as well as winning a SAG award.
He continued his work on television from 2001-2014 with a recurring role on Hot in Cleveland as Roy, the love interest of Betty White's character.
Tha actor, who was born in Blackpool, England, came to America when he was 19. He became a teacher at Western Illinois University and eventually began acting in Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble.
Another one a Mahoney's notable roles was that of James Court in Say Anything, the iconic 80s film that also starred John Cusack.
Mahoney died Sunday while in hospice according to his manager, Paul Martino.
