Kristen Stewart and Naomi Scott have officially signed on to star in Elizabeth Banks' upcoming Charlie's Angels reboot. The film will also star British actress Ella Balinska to round out the trio. Elizabeth Banks will also star in the film, playing Bosley.
The Charlie's Angels series ran from 1976-1981 and first starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith. Others would go on to replace them eventually. There was also film franchise that began in 2000 and starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu. It went on to spawn a sequel in 2003.
The premise of the original series focused around three women who were private investigators and worked for a mysterious boss named Charlie Townsend, who never reveals his face. They also work with Bosley, who is the go-between for the Charlie and his Angels.
The reboot will feature a now global Townsend Agency while focusing on this select group of detectives.
The film is slated for a September 27, 2019 release.
