The live-action drama series will be written and produced by Michael Seitzman (Quantico, Code Black) through his ABC Studios-based Maniac Productions. It will be adapted from the Serena Valentino book series featuring villains such as Maleficent, Ursula, Beast and the Wicked Queen from Snow White.
Disney has been building up a slate of shows for its upcoming streaming service including two Star Wars live-action series (The Mandalorian and untitled Rogue One prequel), a High Shcool Musical series and some Marvel character-based series.
