Johan Renck (Breaking Bad, Chernobyl) has signed on to direct HBO's "The Last of Us".
"I'm an executive producer on it and attached to it. It's an ongoing TV series. So that's not something that I will be able to take on to that extent, but I'm part of that series and I will be directing at least the pilot," said Renck in a recent interview with Discussing Film.
The series is an adaptation of the video game by the same name. The game takes place in the United States after a mutant Cordyceps fungus infects humans, changing them into hyper-aggressive creatures.
Renck will most likely not be the sole director for the series but no other director has been announced yet.
