Wanted Director Timur Bekmambetov in Tals to Direct Black Lightning

According to Variety, "Wanted" director Timur Bekmambetov is currently in talks to direct a remake of the Russian film "Black Lightning". The film would be a Universal Pictures project. He produced the original film.
The story features a Moscow University student who, after discovering a flying car, becomes a superhero and takes on the Russian Underworld.
There will also be a sequel made the original Wanted film, but there is no word yet on when that will begin production.
