Laeta Kalogrids (Avatar, Shutters Island) and Patrick Lussier (Scream 3, My Bloody Valentine) have been hired to write the script for the next yet untitled installment of "Terminator" franchise. The last movie in the franchise "Terminator Salvation" was released back in 2009 and made $370 million worldwide.
A new movie was always in the cards after Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures bought the rights several years back, and in that time she has also bought her brother David's Skydance Pictures on board for the project. Money should not be a problem as Ellison has recently backed the movies "Zero Dark Thirty" and "The Master" while David has ties to this year's "Star Trek" sequel "Into Darkness".
So with the ball seemingly rolling, hopefully it will not be too long before a new "Terminator" movie. I guess the next question is will Arnie make an appearance?
