The original film starred Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland, Jami Gertz, Corey Haim and Corey Feldman and followed the story of two brothers who battle a gang of vampires in the new town they live in.
In the TV version, written by Rob Thomas, the story will take place over 70 years, a decade for each season that they envision. The storylines, the setting, humans, etc., will change, but the vampires will remain the same throughout each season.
The first season will be set in San Francisco during the summer of 1967.
