The series is described as "fantasy-noir set in a neo-Victorian city" where mythical creatures have descended upon, fleeing their war torn homeland. Not all inhabitants of the city are thrilled with the arrival of these guests, and crimes begin to rise. Delevingne will play Vignette Stonemoss, one of the refugees, who is faerish.
The series will be a first for both Delevingne and Bloom in the television world. Eight episodes have been ordered for the first season and will be written and executive produced by showrunner Rene Echevarria. Paul McGuigan will direct and also executive produce alongside Echevarria and Travis Beacham.
"Carnival Row" will begin filming this fall and is slated for a 2019 release.
