Jean Smart has signed on to star in HBO's Watchmen. She will be a series regular.
Smart will be playing an FBI Agent who is investigating a murder, possibly the character of Agent Blake.
The series was written by Damon Lindelof and will be based off the DC comic series. Lindelof will also executive produce alongside Nicole Kassell, Tom Spezialy, Stephen Williams and Joseph Iberti.
The cast also includes Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing and James Wolk.
Watchmen is slated for a 2019 premiere on HBO.
