NBCUniversal Making Progress with New Streaming Service
NBCUniversal has begun to move forward with the development of its new streaming service. They announced today that they were reorganizing their executive team and has put Bonnie Hammer in charge of overseeing the project.

"NBCUniversal has some of the world's most valuable intellectual property and top talent, both in front of and behind the camera. Many of the most-watched shows on today's popular streaming platforms come from NBCUniversal. Our new service will be different than those presently in the market and it will be built on the company's strengths, with NBCUniversal's great content and the technology expertise, broad scale and the wide distribution of Comcast Cable and Sky", said NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke via the company's statement.

The streaming service's content will include NBCU's film and TV properties as well as original content. It will be a free, ad-supported direct-to-consumer service for those who are pay TV subscribers. An ad-free version will also be available to consumers but no price was released for that option yet.

NBCUniversal is planning for a 2020 launch of the project.
