Mike Judge Signs on for New Beavis and Butt-Head Series with Comedy Central

Mike Judge has just signed a deal with Comedy Central to create a reimagined "Beavis and Butt-Head" animated series. The deal has Judge writing, producing, and doing voice-over work for the series.

The show will join another MTV-related series, Jodie, which is a spin-off of another iconic 90s series, "Daria".

ViacomCBS' Entertainment & Youth Group's Chris McCarthy said, "We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central. Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can't wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own."

A huge innovation "Beavis and Butt-Head" debuted in 1993 and enjoyed a meteoric rise to success, lasting until 1997. It tackled social issues as well as becoming a voice for a whole generation. A feature-length film also came from the franchise - 1996's "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America". A reboot of the series also occurred in 2011 and lasted for just one season.

Mike Judge has other hit franchises under his belt including "Silicon Valley" and "King of the Hill", as well as co-creating films such as "Office Space" and "Idiocracy".

Commenting on the news, Judge said, "It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again."
