Amblin Partners has acquired the rights to "Upgrade" a film based on the book from bestselling author Blake Crouch.
Crouch will also adapt the screenplay for the sci-fi/thriller, which follows the story of genetically enhanced siblings who find themselves in a battle with each other over saving humanity.
The book itself will be published on July 12 by Ballantine Books, which is an imprint of Penguin Random House.
Crouch is a best-selling author and has sold millions of copies of books.
