Eli Roth has stepped down from directing "Borderlands", the long-awaited video game film adaptation.
Although reports have surfaced that Roth was fired, that isn't the case. He has stepped down in order to begin production on "Thanksgiving". In an amicable move, Deadpool's Tim Miller will take over from Roth to do a couple of weeks of reshoots.
"Borderlands" will star Cate Blanchett as Lillith, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Kevin Hart as Roland, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Florian Munteanu as Krieg, Jack Black as Claptrap, and Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis.
The video game debuted in 2009 from Gearbox and 2K and has gone on to be one of the best-selling franchises of all time, and consists of 4 games.
