Five genre-defining horror films return to the big screen with exclusive Spencer Charnas introductions and Ice Nine Kills music videos throughout October.
Horror fans and metalheads are getting a special treat this October as AMC Theatres teams up with horror-metal powerhouse Ice Nine Kills for “Welcome to Horrorwood,” a monthlong celebration bringing five genre-defining films back to the big screen. The series, presented as part of AMC’s Thrills & Chills programming and in partnership with horror entertainment brand Bloody Disgusting, will screen at approximately 300 AMC locations across the United States.
Inspired by Ice Nine Kills’ acclaimed albums The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, the event brings together five films that have become staples of the horror genre: Hostel, Friday the 13th, American Psycho, Pet Sematary, and The Crow.
Adding an extra layer for Ice Nine Kills fans, every screening will feature a specially recorded introduction from frontman Spencer Charnas before the movie begins. Following each film, audiences will also see the band’s corresponding music video inspired by the featured horror classic.
The “Welcome to Horrorwood” schedule includes:
- October 2 and October 6: Hostel (2005)
- October 9 and October 13: Friday the 13th (1980)
- October 16 and October 20: American Psycho (2000)
- October 23 and October 27: Pet Sematary (1989)
- October 30 and October 31: The Crow (1994)
“Welcome to Horrorwood” will take over Friday and Tuesday nights throughout October, with screenings scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. local time. The Halloween weekend lineup will feature The Crow on Friday, October 30, followed by a special Halloween-night screening of the film on Saturday, October 31.

Led by Spencer Charnas, Ice Nine Kills has built an international following by combining extreme metal, melody, and elaborate horror-inspired storytelling. The band’s two Silver Scream albums have become defining releases in its catalog, with The Silver Scream featuring the RIAA Gold-certified single “A Grave Mistake.” The band has accumulated more than 2 billion global streams and over 500 million YouTube views. Its live résumé includes tours with Slipknot and an appearance on Metallica’s M72 World Tour after being personally selected for the run.
Ice Nine Kills’ expanding INKverse extends well beyond its music. The band has developed cinematic music videos, mock true-crime books, graphic novels, merchandise drops, and the annual Silver Scream Convention in Worcester, Massachusetts. The group closed out 2025 with a headlining performance at OVO Arena Wembley and the first Silver Scream Con London.
In 2026, Ice Nine Kills is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its first album while continuing to deepen its connection with the horror world. That relationship has included collaborations with major horror franchises and a growing presence at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. For Halloween Horror Nights 2026, Ice Nine Kills composed an original score for “Terror Tram starring Art the Clown,” reworking classic Christmas songs into the soundtrack for Art’s takeover of the historic Universal backlot.
The band’s music has also appeared in several major horror releases. “A Work of Art” is featured in Terrifier 3, while Scream 7 features “Twisting the Knife,” featuring Mckenna Grace. The latter became Ice Nine Kills’ first No. 1 song at Active Rock Radio and reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart. “Hell or High Slaughter (Grave Diggler Pt. 2)” appears in Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.
Ice Nine Kills also entered the world of video games in summer 2026 with “Play Dead,” a song tied to the survival-horror hit Dead by Daylight. Spencer Charnas was also announced as a voice actor for the upcoming Halloween: The Game.
Additionally, the band announced that it will appear as part of UNWRAPPED: An Acoustic Holiday, a six-night December event featuring acoustic performances from artists including Smith & Myers of Shinedown, Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society, The Funeral Portrait, The Warning, Ayron Jones, and Sublime, among others.
