The film is a remake of the 1981 slasher film of the same name. Ackles will be playing Tom, a man who returns home to Harmony, Mo., 10 years after 22 people were murdered there on Valentine's night. He reconnects with his first love, and also finds out that he is a murder suspect.
Production on the film will begin on May 12. Jack Murray, John Dunning and Andre Link will executive produce. Executive producers for Lionsgate are Mike Paseornek and John Sacchi.
