ABOUT RAMAYANA: PART ONE
Prince Rama, revered for his compassion, integrity, and unwavering devotion to duty, is destined for the throne of Ayodhya when a promise made by his father abruptly changes the course of his life. Sent into fourteen years of exile, Rama leaves his kingdom alongside his devoted wife Sita and loyal brother Lakshmana, exchanging royal privilege for an uncertain existence in the wilderness. Their journey becomes part of a struggle far greater than any of them imagined when Sita is abducted by Ravana, the powerful ruler of Lanka.
Determined to rescue Sita and restore the balance threatened by Ravana’s ambition, Rama gathers allies for an extraordinary confrontation between forces representing duty and desire, sacrifice and ego, and ultimately good and evil. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and conceived as the first chapter of an epic two-part cinematic event, Ramayana brings one of humanity’s oldest surviving stories to the screen on an unprecedented scale while preserving the emotional heart of Rama’s journey, his choices, his losses, and the ideals that have allowed his story to endure for thousands of years.
