ABOUT THE EXORCIST: MARTYRS

The Exorcist: Martyrs follows New York City detective Julie Miller, who once ended the terror spree of a satanic serial killer and has spent the years since trying to keep that violence buried. When a new murder scene is marked with her name, she is forced back into a case that feels personal from the first clue. The investigation pulls her toward Father William, a former prison chaplain who heard the killer’s final confession, and rookie detective Gina Restrepo, who helps Miller chase a trail that suggests the evil she faced never truly disappeared.

As the inquiry deepens, Miller discovers that the killings may be tied to a larger lineage of violence reaching from infamous real-world murderers into a corruption she cannot explain by ordinary means. With her mother, Mary, at home and her young son Max depending on her stability, the case threatens both her family and her grip on the present. Written and directed by Mike Flanagan, the film expands the Exorcist universe with a new story centered on possession, legacy, and the possibility that some darkness moves from one generation to the next.
