Above the Below (2026)

After a disastrous return from space, three astronauts survive a violent descent through Earth’s atmosphere only to face an even more terrifying ordeal. Their badly damaged spacecraft crashes into the ocean and begins sinking, leaving Jackson, Brookes, and Rhodes trapped inside a capsule that was never designed to withstand the crushing depths. Cut off from mission control and unable to contact rescuers, the crew must assess their dwindling resources while searching for a way to escape their underwater prison.

As their oxygen supply steadily disappears, the astronauts confront mounting fear, physical exhaustion, and the possibility that not everyone will survive. Every attempt to reach safety carries enormous risks, forcing the crew to make increasingly desperate decisions as time runs out. Co-directed by Idris Elba and Martin Owen, Above the Below stars Elba, Caitlin FitzGerald, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin in a claustrophobic survival thriller that transforms a journey home from space into a fight for life beneath the ocean.
