Matt Reeves, who directed the upcoming film, "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", will also be returning to direct the next installment, according to the studio.
The third film will be produced by Chernin Entertainment along with Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. Writers for the project haven't been revealed yet.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes", opening on July 11, will star Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman. James Franco will not be returning, as Jason Clarke will be taking over the role.
