YouTube Red Announces New Original Programming Including Dwayne Johnson Series
YouTube has announced some new programming that will be coming to their YouTube Red subscription service. The announcement was made during a presentation at the MIPCOM trade show on Monday.

The service announced that they have ordered their first drama pilot, Impulse from Doug Liman, and a sci-fi action series from Dwayne ‘The Rock' Johnson. Impulse is based on the third novel in Steven Gould's Jumper series, which follows the story of a 16-year old girl who discovers, under duress, that she has the ability to teleport.  Lifeline is the tentative title of Johnson's series, which was greenlit for 8 episodes.  It follows the story of life insurance company that sends its agents into the future, but only by 33 days, to prevent the deaths of clients.

YouTube also announced renewals for Escape the Night for a second season, Scare PewDiePie for a second season and another season for Foursome.

Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Content for YouTube, said, "I hope it's clear that YouTube is all in on Originals. We want to invest in the passion of our incredibly talent creators, match them with world-class visionary producers, tell stories that entertain a vibrant community. We believe in this business and are deeply committed to supporting the shows and creative talent that it fuels."
