"Extraction", the hit film from Netflix starring Chris Hemsworth, has a sequel on the way. Joe Russo, who wrote the original, will pen the script.
"The deal is closed for me to write 'Extraction 2,' and we are in the formative stages of what the story can be. We're not committing yet to whether that story goes forward, or backward in time. We left a big loose ending that leaves question marks for the audience," said Russo.
"Extraction" debuted on April 24 and follows the story of a mercenary (Hemsworth) who must rescue a kidnapped child. While the film has done well among viewers, critics have had mixed reviews.
No word yet on who will direct, though it is said that there are hopes for Sam Hargrave, as well as Hemsworth to return.
