Garth Davis (Lion) has signed on to direct Disney's upcoming "Tron 3" film. The third installment of the franchise is said to be a new story and not a direct sequel to 2010's "Tron: Legacy".
"Tron" was released in 1982 followed and starred Jeff Bridges as a computer programmer who gets trapped inside a CPU mainframe. The follow up starred Bridges, alongside Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Michael Sheen. It was directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Jared Leto will be starring in the film as well as producing with Justin Springer and Emma Ludbrook. The script is being written by Jesse Wigutow and is currently still in development.
Leto signed on to do the film back in 2017 and now, finally, some movement is being seen in the film's production after quite a few delays.
