Disney and Pixar's $1 billion sequel heads home with deleted scenes, bonus features, a limited-edition 4K SteelBook and new franchise collections.
Disney and Pixar's Toy Story 5 is heading home following its $1 billion theatrical run, with the blockbuster sequel arriving on digital platforms on August 18 before its 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD release on September 22.
The film will be available digitally through Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home, giving fans another chance to reunite with Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the beloved gang.
Toy Story 5 has become another major theatrical success for Pixar, crossing $1 billion worldwide following its June debut. The film also earned an A CinemaScore and received Certified Fresh and Verified Hot designations from Rotten Tomatoes.
The latest installment introduces a new challenge for Woody, Buzz, Jessie and their friends as the toys find themselves competing with technology for Bonnie's attention. Their place in the playroom is threatened when Bonnie receives Lilypad, a new tablet with ideas of her own about how children should spend their time.
Lilypad's arrival forces the toys to confront a question that has followed them throughout the franchise: How can they remain important in a world that continues to change?
The digital and physical releases include a collection of bonus features offering a closer look at the making of the film, along with deleted scenes, a gag reel and feature commentary.
A limited-edition 4K SteelBook will also arrive September 22. The collectible edition features Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Bullseye alongside new characters Lilypad and Smarty Pants.
Disney and Pixar are also expanding the franchise collection for fans who want more than the latest adventure. A digital special-edition 2-Movie Collection pairs the original Toy Story with Toy Story 5 in 4K Ultra HD, while a new 5-Movie Collection brings together Toy Story, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, Toy Story 4 and Toy Story 5 through digital and DVD bundles.
Music fans can also pre-order the Toy Story 5 Original Soundtrack on vinyl and CD. The album features "I Knew It, I Knew You," performed by Taylor Swift and written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff, along with Randy Newman's original score. Newman has been part of the musical identity of the franchise since the original Toy Story arrived in 1995.
