The nearly 70-minute theatrical event will give audiences across North America an early look at upcoming movies while raising money for industry charities.
Movie fans are in for a treat next week as Cinema United's nonprofit arm, The Cinema Foundation, launches its first Sneak Peek Showcase, a nearly 70-minute theatrical event debuting at thousands of movie theaters across North America.
Premiering Tuesday, April 22, with an encore presentation Thursday, April 24, the special evening program will offer an early look at upcoming releases from Hollywood's major studios. Audiences will see trailers, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage and never-before-seen clips from some of the biggest titles arriving in summer and fall 2025. All content featured in the showcase is rated PG, PG-13 or R.
The event gives moviegoers a taste of CinemaCon, the annual industry gathering where studios traditionally preview their upcoming theatrical slates for theater owners and other members of the exhibition industry.
"Sneak Peek Showcase helps bring a little taste of the famed industry-insider event CinemaCon to movie lovers with a fun look at the upcoming theatrical slate," said Bryan Braunlich, Executive Director of The Cinema Foundation. "For the first time, cinemagoers will get a glimpse of the most anticipated movies coming soon to their neighborhood theatres all in one program."
Braunlich added, "We are proud to have proceeds benefit industry charitable organizations, and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors, Fandango and The Coca-Cola Company."
The showcase is a public-facing extension of CinemaCon 2025, which took place earlier this month in Las Vegas. The program will begin at 6 p.m. local time at participating theaters across North America.
Tickets are $3 and can be purchased through participating theater websites and apps, At the Movies or Fandango.
The Sneak Peek Showcase also has a charitable component. Proceeds will support organizations including Variety - The Children's Charity, the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation and The Cinema Foundation. In Canada, a portion of ticket sales will benefit Canadian Picture Pioneers, which provides financial assistance and educational support to film industry workers in need.
Presented by Fandango and supported by The Coca-Cola Company, the showcase is part of The Cinema Foundation's year-round @The Movies campaign. Audiences will also see the big-screen debut of the Grand Prize-winning film from the 2025 Coca-Cola Refreshing Films program, which highlights emerging talent from participating film schools.
Established in 2022, The Cinema Foundation was created by Cinema United, formerly the National Association of Theatre Owners, to support and grow the theatrical moviegoing experience.
The Sneak Peek Showcase follows earlier @The Movies events such as National Popcorn Day on January 19. Additional events are planned throughout 2025, including Date Night @ The Movies on August 15 and Family Day @ The Movies on November 9.
Founded in 1948, Cinema United represents movie theater owners ranging from independent single-screen locations to major global theater chains. The organization represents more than 31,000 screens in the United States and approximately 30,000 additional screens internationally.
