I am here with mr. Joel Edgerton and his brother Nash on their new film grand girl how's it going with you guys good thanks very very good now the film was a lot of fun had a great time with it start off with Joel you looked like you had a blast playing this role now how do how would you compare this to your roles like from it comes at night or even a gift for saying well a lot of the times I'm fun myself playing characters that have a very straight moral compass or you know good guys and every now and then somebody lets me just sort of lean into the darker part of my normal natural personality and it felt to me alike I mean the first big great jerk I think I play was in the Gatsby Great Gatsby funnily enough I think Baz Luhrmann designed with his wife design this hotel um yeah was was was Tommy Cannon and now this is like the modern Tom Buchanan two self-centered self-righteous a it was a lot of fun a lot of fun I was gonna say now what would you prefer out of the two would you prefer playing either a good or bad guy is personal that guy's I mean cuz you can just do whatever you want is like you can be selfish and violently malevolent old and all the cool all the things that we secretly wish we could do you can do well so I think the great thing about playing the bad guy is they don't think of themselves as bad guys yeah it was the best bad guys the ones that are benefiting from a cause well yeah one of my favorite moments in the film is when I find out so much has gone wrong for somebody else right for Harold and I take this big sigh and I say this is such bad time and if it says something but you're bad but it's all like Richard just isn't less worried about Harold right and just how it's gonna affect him and he's bottom line now Nash you've done a few short films which are at that work great thank you know how did doing those short films benefit you to doing your feature feel specifically with green go well I think my shorts have a very similar sense of humor to the film you know I like to play things very straight and have the human come out of the situation and the time of my shorts is very similar to the film so it's great to see the shorts have the reaction they've had and know that people can respond to that type of humor now since both of your directors were there times where you went to Joel for advice or the or did Joel give you notes per se on any day of the set yeah I feel like we do that all the time when he's directing or I am we definitely you know share our opinions and you know and encourage each other to you know do the best we can with what we're making and we hope we help in otherwise you know Nash Nash was around a lot on the gift you know helping with so second unit type stuff and and start coordinating and playing character and you know I was around a lot of weird little things that I normally wouldn't do as an actor on on this I went I was there for a part of the location scouting and other other planning things so it helps us just to have kind of constant conversations and check in with each other because filmmaking it's very easy to drift away and lose sight of what the shoreline looks like and so it's important to have somebody who's a bit more objective around it helps anyway well thank you guys so much that film was a lot of fun and congratulations to both of you thank you so much [Music] you
