Hey, I'm Alison with FlickDirect and I'm speaking with Naomi Scott about Smile 2. Hello, how are you? I'm great, how are you? I'm good. Do you like horror movies? Horror is not something I grew up watching. It's something that I discovered later on in life. And I genuinely fell in love with the genre later on. I'm by no means an expert, there's still so many movies I need to watch.

But twofold. Number one, watching in theatre with friends. I'm like, wait, this is the most fun. How have I been missing out on this for so long? But also how horror is able to really explore these darker parts of humanity that I think we find it hard to talk about. So I think it really runs the gambit of absurdity in terms of filmmaking and fun. And also really being a metaphor for conversations around just humanity.

Someone said to me that it's really just glamorising, almost in a way, and it's really just a way of trying to get people to understand the world. And I thought that was so interesting. So tell me, because Smile was this surprise hit in a way. How nervous were you? How much pressure did you feel about making Smile 2? Or were you ready to jump in headfirst?

Oh, there was absolutely no hesitation. I was so ready to jump in. I was just excited. Because it's really, I think as an actor, you just want to work with great people. I was a fan of Parker's. And then when he started talking to me about this character, I just felt like this character sounded so interesting. And I also, when I read the script, I felt like I understood Sky and I felt like I knew how I wanted to approach it.

Or at least I knew what my take would be. Everyone brings themselves to everything, but I at least knew how I would attack it. I had asked Sosie Bacon from the first film, this question, I want to ask it to you as well. As an actress, because you shoot out of sequence and we're supposed to watch her deteriorate, how difficult is that for you? First of all, I was so inspired by how fantastic I thought Sosie was in the first movie.

Phenomenal. I think her performance was incredible. Probably not talked about enough, in my opinion. And Kyle as well. I just thought, you know, it really anchors that movie. And that's what I love about Parker as a filmmaker, is his movies are anchored in the character. But in terms of the chronological thing, Parker was really my barometer in terms of, sometimes I'd be like, "Are you sure this isn't too much?" Or whatever.

And he'd say no for what this moment is. And he really saw the movie in his head. So it was a trust exercise in that sense. Phenomenal. A challenge for you. Thank you so much. If this is not better than the first, it is just as good. I'm waiting to see what Parker comes up with next. So thank you for your time today. I appreciate it. Thank you. you
