[Music] hi everyone this is Chris Rebels with FlickDirect we are at ComicCon 2012 talking to Sheena Marie of fatals Fame Sheena what can you tell us about fatals and your involvement in the show I've done two episodes so far my first episode was 16 minutes of fame and my second is Libra the one with the comic book character I play an actress turned crazy serial killer who ends up in a mental institution with her face half burned off so quite an interesting twist as my character starts to who I end up being at the end of the second season how did you become involved in the show um I got an audition for a different role on the show showed up didn't really care for the part they asked me if I would stay and read for the character of Angel and I was like oh that's actually the character I wanted to play and um had 5 minutes to go over five pages total cold read went in made some good choices and got a call a couple days later that I booked it so very nice so this show is kind of almost in a way besides being woman of almost you know a danger in a way but also woman of power do you find it kind of inspiring that to to I was I guess women who of the audience kind of a role model to inspire them to kind of find the inner strength to become more than what they are absolutely I don't think my character is one of those role model types but it's all about you know hot women and power and danger and just women taking charge so usually the guys are the ones in charge and they're calling all the shots but on this show it's complete opposite girls have all the power and it's just a nice little twist yeah definitely now the show has kind of an overarching mythology to it besides just the individual episodes do you know like fur down like if there's going to be any more like that's going to be explained in any way um I'm sorry can you say that again uh the show has kind of an overarching mythology to it like you know besides just the individual episodes do you know do you see kind of where it's going like farther down the thing with this show is you never know what to expect because every episode is different there are recurring characters but there's a lot of new cast so it's like my episode I'm based in a reality show house and then there's another episode and there's like Ghost Hunter and then there's like a sorority house so there's always something new and exciting and that's one of the best parts about the show is you never know what you're going to get is they're going to be a bank robbery there going to be a murder and there's always hot women there's sex there's guns there's everything it's like what's not to like and what what's your favorite part of being part of the show my favorite part about this character is I've never got to play something serious and dramatic before I do like Nickelodeon and Disney and that's all I've ever done is just the cutesy kid stuff so for this it's like a total stretch for my acting I get to just step out of the box be this crazy deranged person that I would never be in normal life so it's just fun to get to play something completely different than what I am really switching track a little bit now that you is this your first time at Comic-Con or or this new you know older experience for you first time ever it's nuts it's so fun though I'm so so glad I got to be a part of this have you been able to go into the you know the down lower areas and see kind of like you know all the stuff going on not too much um right when I got here it took me like 4 hours to get here from LA traffic was horrible so by the time I got here and then I had to come and sign autographs and then do interviews so I haven't really had a chance to check out all the craziness all the craziness I've seen is just on the streets walking and that's Entertainment enough growing up what kind of Role Models inspired you as far as female was concerned um um well my mom is definitely my biggest role model I look up to her she's my best friend in the entire world if I want to talk like actresses um Marilyn Monroe was my favorite ever since I was little just everything about her story and where she came from and who she was able to become is just very inspiring to show that you know you can have a bad upbringing but still be able to bring something positive out of it and Influence People for decades to come obviously that's something you would would hope for down the rine absolutely yeah I want to keep doing this making people smile laugh cry be angry like it's just fun to get a come into someone's home like via television and just to have them like experience something that you've experience with you and it's like it's just a cool overall job and experience yeah that's kind of the fun of acting is that you had to do these play these characters you would never even think to even try out in your life or even you know maybe never meet and then you get to play them and then share that with people you would never even you know strangers complete strangers totally and that's the thing that I love about television and being recurring it's because you get to like continuously come into this person's home and they get to see the difference of your character and the strength and weaknesses and how the character's grown and just all of the changes within this character whereas films I mean unless you watch it over and over again but it's never going to change so the good thing about television in this show is you never know what to expect I mean I'm in a reality show I'm in a mental institution who knows what next season has in store for me so I'm just excited to see where they go with my character I'm just hoping I'm able to get some plastic surgery because my face is half burned off at the end of my first episode and it's it's really ugly it's really B well listen thank you for taking the time to talk to us it was very nice meeting you and have fun at the convention thank you very much nice to meet you to Catherine tell us a little bit about your character and how you got involved with the show my character her name is Tiffany and she is the president of a sorority and she actually starts off as like a really sweet a little bit sorty president cuz that's where they all are right um and then as the episode It's called Girls Gone Dead in the first season uh continues on you realize there's a little bit of a past there and you realize that she is a definitely a f she's a black widow and she's lured some gentlemen into her web um and she extracts revenge on them so yeah so how did you become involved with the show I auditioned yeah and my agent sent me out and I got just one episode and it was such a great experience and um the producers and I worked so well together that they they brought me back as one of the few girls that do get to come back and go in more episodes I'm in four episodes so I have a little bit of a through line throughout the whole two seasons where I'm a university student that pops up every once in a while yeah now with your character did you find that it was kind of a different take from what you used to doing before or was it something something you kind of felt you could slip into easily well it is very different I played a lot of good girls and I played a lot of like on liners you know where I'm like the hot girl and it's like I scream or something when a big boogie monster comes out um so it was a great break from that that I actually got to play the and now I just I feel like I'm a little bit pigeonholes because I I just did it so well it was a little too easy but I did find it was really easy to slip into because I think um the as a fat Tel every woman has her like inner fat so it wasn't like I was putting on a different character I was just bringing out some feelings that might have been suppressed for the past you know 10 years of my life and I actually got to show them and and explore them so yeah this show kind of features in a way women of ganger obviously but also in a sense women of power yes and do you find that inspiring to kind of not I mean not completely have a you know you're giving a you know a role model of you know the children but in a sense when you're show I'm perfect come on kids you want to be like me parents you want your kids to be like me right well actresses yes maybe not necessarily a but I don't you know I understand what you're saying but do you find it inspiring to kind of give that inspiration to people who are watching the show that sense that they can take control of themselves and and go out in the world and not necessarily have to lean on someone else exactly um like I I tell a lot of people there is a lot of sex in it but the women use it for power and it kind of as we go through the conventions and meet the fans you know you expect it's all men because it's you know guns and and sex but most of the fans are female because they like that they they're so tired of Hollywood movies and shows showing women as just you know objects of affection or or girls for the men to play off of to get the funny line so we actually get full characters we get full arcs and instead of using sex to please a man we use sex to please ourselves and to take revenge on men or take control of a situation so I think it's very empowering all the stories are very empowering now this is switching track a little bit is this your first time at the convention or are you are you cor of a Season Pro at this no neither this is my second time and I actually came with fals uh last year I also went to WonderCon so I would not say I'm a Season Pro because people come here for 50 years you know and they know everybody by name like hey Bob hey Charlie like can't even I walked with a couple of them today down the convention floor and you go go five feet because it's you know it's so so many people know everybody but I do want to keep coming back I want to dress up next year you know I was planning on dressing up this year but I just got so tired so yeah can you tell us what you were planning on dressing up as I'm sorry can you tell us what you were planning on dressing up as I was going to dress up as biker chick which is another character I play in a different um a different production it's Warrior Showdown if you go to Warrior showdown.

comom I'm actually um a f fatel on that too I fight um I use a chain to fight and what it is it's Mortal Kombat and the world Deadliest Warrior combined so that you take Warriors throughout history that would never fight and suck them together and the way you decide who wins the fight is who gets the most votes so yeah now last that's all I do now I love it very nice now lastly growing up what role female role models did you find most inspired you um I always say my mom because and she definitely inspired me in the whole F tal thing as well cuz she was a very independent woman and like a lot of when she was growing up it was the time when everybody got married you know and just had kids which is a completely legitimate you know career to take but she just didn't want that so she went to school she got her Master's in statistics and when she did you know decide to get married and have kids it wasn't because she was leaning on anybody it was because it was her decision and she had all the choices in the world so I really give a lot of props to my mom and you know my dad for like raising a very independent family so so I find that I did also bring that into my character a little bit of like manipulation like I'm not going to sit down and be a victim and do what Society tells me to do and go in the corner and cry I I take matters into my own hands now my parents didn't teach me to murder anybody let's not go that far I don't want them getting hate mail like you're the reason for all this but they did teach me that so well that's fantastic well listen thank you so much for Katherine Marie of f Fels take care everybody Ashley tell us a little bit about your character on the show sure well I'm the only character that got to play two I play twins uh in our sci-fi episode with Robert picardo um and it was basically about a scientist who invents a teleportation system sends ourself into the future meets her future self and uh trouble ensues so MH very nice now how did you become involved with the show um you know it was a normal audition I went in for a couple of the other episodes I kept getting some of the different scripts and and uh I this was the one that I ended up getting cast for which I was really excited for because it was just such a challenge you know playing against yourself and in scenes it's really exciting so did you find that when you're playing this character it was something that was different from what you were normally used to or was it just easy kind of just to slip into you know there are elements I think with any character you play you bring an element of yourself so um you know she's a strong determined woman she wanted what she wanted and I guess that's who I am is a real person too uh you know the futuristic self is this captain of the army so she was really strong as well and charge woman so yeah of course it was it was easy now this show in a way I mean some of the characters you know certainly take a dark path sometimes but at the same time they're women of power I mean they they have an inner strength that they don't really have to lean on someone else do you find that in a way it's very inspiring inspiring to give that to the female audience who watching this show a character that doesn't need another man in their man in their life to help them succeed or get to somewh place good or or anything like that M of course I mean the show is you know fun Fels are all about female women empowerment uh and also using other you know aspects of yourself to get what you want in a situation you know my both my characters one is a a general one is a scientist so it's obviously a use of intelligence um besides just you know uh some of you know people usually think of femes as like assassins and so they're just using their you know physical uh strength to take over a situation but there's so many different ways to get what you want and I think that's really empowering like you said your your Chara one character is a general the other one is a scientist that's kind of a almost complete opposite role because one is a very take charge kind of go-getter role and scientist is more I'm going to figure out things out on a you know scale tocale level do you find it difficult to kind of go back and forth between the two characters it was and it was it was something that you just wanted it ever so slightly to be different because they're technically the same person just in a different time frame so luckily my my director was wonderful Darren Scott you know he's done a ton of stuff and he just gave the slightest adjustment of kind of uh putting it into an animal perspective if one were uh like an owl which you know is using the intelligence but still a predator and one was a panther more striking and waiting and stealthy so I was able to just use two and just kind of switch on and off during the shoot and I hopefully it gave off what I wanted it to so yeah now growing up what female role models did you find most inspiring that kind of gave you the inspiration to go and take the life that you wanted uh acting wise I mean I've always been a big fan of Vivian Lee she's one of my favorite actors of all times from street car and Gone With the Wind uh you know old I I I have of course a big fan of somebody like Lucille Ball you know in comedy and then currently um really admire Angelina Jolie for for the different roles she's taken and she's kind of followed a path that I always liked it was a little bit of action a little bit of serious you know and she's just done work that's really spoke to me over the time so yeah i' also her philanthropic work besides outside of acting I mean that's just speaks for itself in many ways exactly which is you know a total role model right there and you know doing work that really inspires so do you find that you prefer doing more dramatic and darker roles or do you prefer like to lean towards a little bit something lighter I think it's kind of what I usually get cast as I I don't know I was in in the show I had dark black hair and so it was a little more harsh recently I've been playing a little more nicer characters but it's fun to play something outside of yourself so now switching track a little bit is this your first time in the convention it's my second time my second year I was here with the show last year as well but none of my episodes had aired so it was a you know it's really overwhelming your first time coming here and there's so many I'm such a big fan of a lot of the graphic novels I love you know last year it was um something from legendary pictures was coming out that I was excited about and you know Zack Snyder and George Miller and it's it's really exciting to be able to be here in the middle of all of it well listen thank you so much for taking the time to talk to us it was very nice meeting you and I wish you the best in the future as far as the show's concerned thank you so much all right everyone this is FlickDirect talking to Ashley Green of pimpal take care everybody Madison what can you tell us a little bit about your role in the show my role my girl is named Alexis I play Alexis and she's actually my very my favorite F Vel she plays a very dumb kind of act and um it's all in act though so she's very kind of wide-eyed and innocent and you think that she's the weak one the whole time at the very end she's actually the very very smart one and she comes up with all the schemes to murder the men and certain ways and it's very cool now how did you get involved with the show um I we auditioned for it I actually auditioned for Katherine anette's role which plays Tiffany and my best friend in the episodes um so I auditioned for that role and I was like Yay my agent called I booked the part and I'm like oh my gosh I got the manipulative rooll I'm like so excited I never get cast as this then I get another phone call later saying actually you were the Dy girl I'm like oh that's perfect I like her too so it was fun I got to do that and um it's been very very cool that I me and Katherine get to come back back in future episodes with each other and it makes it its own kind of like cool like mystical world the quest of Ares which is awesome to be a part of yeah now for this world did you find it kind of easy to slip into the character or was it something you had to kind of you know work figure out where she was coming from well this character is actually me times 100 so it is me I play myself because in everyday life I play up dumb if I can get something out of it like in the poker I play poker and I totally will sit at that table and be like hi hi guys like very dumb and kind of acting and people yes and people think oh I'm going to take her money and I'm like actually I've been playing since I was 5 years old and I reel in their money and I you know I use it to my advantage so to play this role was very cool to be able to play myself but to the extreme however I don't kill men not yet I mean but right now no I'm innocent innocent little girl now this show kind of features women that have a dangerous streak to them but at the same time are obviously very empowered yep do you find it in a way inspiring to kind of give women who are watching the role say younger women kind of that inspiration to be well I can I can do things for myself and not need someone else in my life say a man to lean on to get them for me yes I have to say um our audience is very divided it's 50/50 dividing um I believe it actually 51% men like the like love the show 49% women which is almost 50/50 and the guys love the whole the sexiness of it they love that part naturally exactly naturally the girls though watching at ComiCon the people coming up to our booth they're like oh my gosh I love your show um if I was a f vatal I'd be like this and you're like really like that this is amazing and it's cool to see like they like the whole women being empowering the women being in charge and there's not a lot of shows out there that are like that and I wish there was but there really isn't and so to play that kind of role and being in charge and I think it's great it's it's great there's different kinds of f fatals there's like you know ones that are good Fales that have a reason for killing and then there's ones that have no reason at all they just like to kill those are kind of more of the dark really darker ones yes those the dark fatals exactly very very dark FS so true but they're all so much fun and each episode is great they're all so different there's sci-fi there's horror there's fantasy there's all different kinds and whatever your thing is you don't have to watch them in order you can watch one here you can watch one there like in different orders cuz they're all their own story but they piece together together if you watch them all the way through it's like this like cool puzzle gets pieced together and it's like genius it really is genius it's amazing that's the most one thing I found very interesting about the show was that it was a very kind of Anthology show where it's very individual episodes but at the same time there's this overarching story going on which was not something you usually see in in most you know TV shows nowadays I I I completely agree and I I love that whole aspect of it because um it makes it it makes it unique and it makes itun if you like the Twilight Zone you'll love this it's it has a whole thing to it do you like the do you like The Twilight Zone naturally yes oh me too me too I like the original one the busin yes oh of course you can't compare to it really oh my goodness so to do this kind of show and it is really great because you I've gotten to do film no wire I've gotten to do really extremely dark kind of horror stuff um comedic I've gotten to do everything and it's just it's really great and it's all F fatel it's great it's really fun do you find it's more fun to play s of kind of a darker role or do you prefer kind of towards more towards the comedy you know what I actually like to do the um darker type shows but I like to play the more comedic part to it because I like to be the comedic relief or that kind of thing because it's It comes naturally to me as fun because I got to play up the the bubbliness and that kind of thing too or the cutesiness and I just like it makes me happy it makes me excited to be the person that makes somebody laugh like just like for a quick second and then back to the darkness because I love dark stuff I love horror so that part is fun to watch but then for me personally like to act as so it's fun now growing up what female roles did you find most inspiring to kind of get you into acting or just in general well that is an easy one there's two people that are my biggest Role Models one miss Marilyn Monroe my alltime favorite my whole room is decked out with Marilyn everywhere you see is Marilyn and then my other one is Goldie H I love her so much oh my gosh like Marilyn has a naive like you know that kind of thing or whatever and then Goldie H is very kind of quirky and fun girl and I love them both so much they're great those are my favorites definitely very very funny people yes I agree I agree totally now switching tack a little bit is this your first time in the convention or have you been here well last year I was a virgin at ComicCon and it was it was so fantastic I was so overwhelmed but it was like a great overwhelming feeling like I was on like a crazy like head high it was awesome but then I got to um come back this year and I was like this year I'm dressing up I love all this geeky stuff I'm dressing up so I dressed up today and as dazzler cuz I love dazzler she's my favorite comic book character and then tomorrow if you watch Star Trek I'm going to be Vina the Orion slave girl from the original series I love the original series is my favorite yes one of my favorite television shows ever so ComicCon second time and third time is just going to get more and more geeky for me wow so you basically have found a place where you really can just like be completely yourself yes I know and I never knew this place existed 3 years ago I'm from Kansas and people in Kansas they don't they don't know about this thing really I mean it's like maybe you watch it occasion in the on the news but people don't really know what ComicCon is so I didn't know and I when I went I was like how do I not know there's like 120,000 people here how do I not know of this place and I can be myself I can dress up in quirky crazy outfits wigs or whatever and you'll be the one to bring it back home then heck yeah we need a Kansas ComiCon woohoo I like it us a little bit about the character of your show okay my character's name is Beverly and I'm part of a like a trip triple assassin team of women we're called the furies and our episode airs August 3rd I thought I stepped on you sorry our episode airs August 3rd it's called hell haath no Furies so if you don't have Cinemax you have Penny time to get it um and basically the episode is about us seducing men killing them and it's the Christmas episode so the way we do it is is quite interesting it's different rather I mean we do shoot guns I got to shoot a real gun and it was amazing they were blanks but I mean still it's still that boom that like oh awesome that was like my favorite part U but anyways so uh yeah killing them and just uh how we do some of it we use some Christmas decorations so that's all I can say then okay exciting how did you become involved with the show I actually submitted for the role myself and I I booked it with no audition just got it so it was awesome I knew what I was getting into so it was I was very excited because I've always wanted to be on the show anyways so you knew about the show beforeand oh yeah yeah yeah I knew how sexy it was and it was just it's so empowering for women and just I love dark and like gritty stuff and so many of their episodes are like you know like film Noir and stuff especially mine it's very uh it's just even like the credits how they did it it's very different so when you when you watch it you'll you'll notice that it's not like any other I don't know it's like not like any other show even episodes in their in the second season it's quite different so it's just I don't know it's the best one all right we good to know uh now this character was this something you were used to play playing before I mean not necessarily A you know woman who goes after men but sort of a darker character actually you know I do play a lot of them I do a lot of horror films so I usually either am getting killed or I am killing okay and I like that because I do some stunt work and stuff too so I I enjoy the fight scenes and I enjoy I I love comedy but when you have to like have that just like that face like that you know I love it it's like it's like the best you know anyone can I mean not everyone can be funny but more PE I think I think it's like easier to watch someone being funny and it's more intense and gratifying for me to watch either myself or someone else in in like a very intense like like I'm going to kill getting a little nervous right now you're like no but you know what I mean yeah I know exactly what you're saying yes now with this character was this something that you kind of slipped into very easily or was it something you kind of had to look for other places for inspiration I actually think I slipped into it pretty easily and the girls that I worked with the other two that are my castmates they um we just met like then and there and everyone was like how long have you guys known each other and they thought we knew each other for like years so we all just like and then we became this like this like overwhelming force and they just they loved it on set we just meshed so well and it was like I don't know it's very rare for you know a group of actress or actresses to kind of just have a natural chemistry together off camera and then it cuz it plays well cuz then it brings it right back onto cam heck yeah and then like after the fact we're all friends now you know we've gone out and stuff and like we went to the premiere of our party together and it's just it was I don't know it's making new friends yay exactly no it's awesome and like just the fun F tells like everything about it it's very like family oriented I think like I feel part of like a family or a group and we know with other stuff that you work on projects it's like you'll be on a movie or a TV show and like you don't really see those people ever again or if you do you may work with them some like another time but with this it's like we do stuff you know like we get invited to do things together and it's just it's very it's like comforting because I don't have any family out here so it feels like it's like they took me under their wing you know yeah so now growing up what female roles did you find most inspiring that led you kind of into you know say acting or just in general I've always loved Angelina Julie because she's she's bad she a bad lady um in a good way and uh little like Pretty Woman it's obviously like total opposite of everything I just said but um Julia Roberts has always inspired me on so many levels so I Look to her for certain things especially like the comedic stuff um and the movie The Craft I don't know why that just like popped into my head really quickly so I thought I'd mention it but that actually when I was growing up I used to watch it a lot okay and I think like the the lead girl with the dark hair she was she played that to a te and I feel like I don't know maybe I studied her subconsciously but I think I can nail some of the stuff she was she was doing in that pretty well now is this your first time being at the convention yes first ComicCon ever and I'm a virgin so yeah it's it's fun though overwhelming yes but you're enjoying yourself were there anyone that you found inspiring say in the comic book area that you knew about that you kind of you found as a in you know what I actually have never really been into comic books I love like Wonder Woman and that kind of stuff um but I don't like know any other you know um like the Sci-Fi and like all that it's like that's so cool to me I love stuff like that and like I saw the Transformer stuff and like just like old school stuff like Teenage mut Ninja Turtles I love stuff like that so that got me excited and then like Ghostbusters I saw like a thing of Slimer and I like that kind of stuff but like I don't know everything else there's so many things here that I have no clue what the characters are and everyone's like so like oh my God that's so and so don't you know and I'm like no well with something like this I mean there's a broad range besides just you know the big popular stuff there's also very small little things that you walk around you're like I don't even know what that is yeah and they got their fans and they're just like they're hardcore
